It seems there were the only two teams not involved in a festival or on tour this weekend!!!!!

So thanks to Bradford on Avon for hosting us for a great morning of Rugby. A team we had never played before.

With slightly reduced numbers on both sides, we decided to play a single match of 40 minutes, 4x10 minute 1/4s and rolling subs.

Chew started very brightly and spent the first quarter camped deep in the BOA half. BOA defence was good and they closed the Chew attack down time and time again. As soon as Chew gave a little width to the ball and put the ball quickly through the hands space opened up and at the end of Q1 chew were 3-1 up Q2 was tough heading into a strong wind but again solid defence and standing a little deeper to give themselves more time the score at Q2 end was 4-1. All season the Chew Valley defence has been excellent and when certain tries were likely to be scored the last tackle was good and BOA could not get over the line. Q3 saw Chew pull out to a 6-1 lead and then by the end of the match another score took them to 7-1.

A really good morning of rugby, the score line doesn't really reflect how good a match the two teams were. Good rugby played with the right spirit.

We look forward to a return fixture when we both have full squads
