Early Chew pressure and a series of penalties saw second-row Daniel Brooker cross. Outside half George Chapman converted. 0 - 7 after 10 mins.

From the restart good hands saw Taylor Thatcher at centre score in the corner after full-back Zac Kavanagh took it close from halfway. Chapman converted 0.14 after 12 mins.

A holding on penalty gave a scrum penalty in the red zone but a back-row turnover snuffed out the scoring opportunity.

The Chew backs looked sharp with Chapman pulling the strings and sound in defence.
A front peal off a lineout on the five presented the hosts with a chance and from an ensuing scrum scrum half Aaron Barker went blind for the score on 38 minutes 5 -14.

A scrum penalty on the home 22 went to the corner on 45 minutes but the lineout faltered.
Chances went begging for Chew including two knock-ons close to or over the line.

On 52 minutes scrum half Freddie Patch left five defenders for dead en route to the line from the 22. Chapman had a second shot at the conversion for an early charge of 5 - 21.

Increasingly dominant at scrum time a penalty to the corner and a maul close in then two quick rucks saw prop Frank Worle gallop in from 5 metres for the try bonus score and with Chapman converting it was 5 - 28 on 65 minutes.

Patch danced through bemused defenders then chipped ahead for Thatcher to collect a favourable bounce and in under the posts Chapman converted 5 - 35 on 70 minutes.

When Harry Stride ran back a loose kick from halfway Thatcher was on his shoulder for his third. Chapman converted with minutes on the clock 5 - 42

With the last play, Chew Valley went the length for centre Thomas Garland to squeeze in at the corner. Chapman missed!.5 - 49. FT.
