The U14s visited N Bristol and enjoyed another very well contested match played in good spirit, on 4G, during which the pendulum swung in favour of N Bristol in the first half and back to Chew in the second half. A strong breeze was certainly a factor with 38 of 43 points scored by the team with the wind at their backs. It was, however, Chew who made a lightning start with the opening try while playing into the breeze. They worked the ball nicely through the hands and showed good pace to touch down in the left corner. Not to be deterred, N Bristol regrouped and began to assert themselves, notably winning turnover ball at the breakdown. N Bristol then scored three tries in quick succession following some weak tackling by Chew, two of the tries being straight from the restart. As a result, N Bristol took a lead of 19 v 5 into the break. Nevertheless, Chew did not let their heads drop and gained in fluency and rhythm in the second half. They steadily accumulated three tries, two of which were converted, and finished strongly to make the match result 24 v 19 to Chew.
